アメリカに行き渡った二つの有名な日本風のことは「Engrish」（スペルミスがある英語の物）と美的デザインです。この写真と書き物と、説明します。
秋葉原電気街
日本にいる日々のはじめの５日に、日本人友達は東京のいろいろな場所に連れて行ってくれました。秋葉原で、歩行者道にある物は。。。アメリカのレストラン？！海外の経済的影響があったのに、日本人だけができる仕方でネオンライトはその場所に光とし吹きます。管やスポットライトだけでなく、灯篭も歩行者道の上に吊るされていました。秋葉原には、昔々の屋外の照明がこのテクノロジセンターの盛んさと混在されます。日本の美的は海外会社の店にお客さんを案内します。
感じ：素晴らしい
何を言ってあますか？
日本の一番と二番の有名な都市（東京と大阪）には、英語のスペルミスがある広告と標識がなさそうです。でも、そんな都市以外に、どうでもいいです。びっくりことに、名古屋はそんな都市じゃありません。名古屋の東山動植物園にある自動販売機は英語で「このコーヒーは一番カフェインがあるのです」と述べて試しますけどちょっと失敗しますね。お客さんはコーヒーを買ってこの間違いを無視すれば、元気になるということが申し出られます。多分これは復習です。

In Japan, we sometimes use English but a lot of their English is wrong. For exmaple, we have T-shirts on which some English is written. A lot of Japanese people wear those T-shirts and don't care what is written. I, myself, wore those T-shirts when I was young and didn't know English well. However, now, I don't wear those clothes because I'm embarrassed wearing clothes on which wrong English is written. How do you feel when you find those wrong English in Japan?

返信削除I think in any country, people use languages they don't understand as a decoration. Instead of using it to express its actual meaning, they are expressing the feeling that they have about it.
For example, if someone here in America gets a tattoo that says 気, the meaning is probably "I have an exotic, interesting tattoo." Maybe they also think it means "power." But it's not really the same as the meaning given by Japanese people. There are lots of different kinds of power, and not all of them are 気.
So, when I see English mistakes in Japan, I think, "Ah, that's funny, but I understand the feeling they have for it." It's certainly not a bad thing... unless someone gets a tattoo that says something stupid. Like 寒男 because they think it means "cool guy." （笑）
